builder but also develops and builds apartments, shopping centers, banks and
planned communities. His heavy community involvement throughout the
years in Chesterfield County has given him a greater insight than most
builders in how things are accomplished. This insight has helped him
with the start up of two different community banks
in the last 20 years. His background and experience as chairman of the
board of the 70 million dollar Peoples Bank of Virginia has provided an added
dimension to his custom building and development field.

The company is truly a family affair
with Mr. Carnes' two sons, Paul and John, and daughter, Teri,
taking major roles in the planning construction and marketing of the
company. Careful attention is addressed to every detail of building
from floor plan to floor covering.
The high caliber of construction is maintained at the
company through the help of his family, as well as by employing full-time
painters, carpenters, and plumbers. "If they are not on payroll,
they are subcontractors that I have worked with in some cases for over 30
years."
